CEO Bernd Eulitz leaves the company at short notice

Bernd Eulitz, Chairman of the Executive Board of Knorr-Bremse AG, resigns in mutual agreement with effect from August 31, 2020 from the company. This was decided unanimously by the Supervisory Board in its meeting today. The Supervisory Board has initiated the search for a successor. The Supervisory Board asked the remaining members of the Executive Board, Dr. Peter Laier, Frank Markus Weber and Dr. Jürgen Wilder, to take over the responsibilities of Mr. Eulitz for the transitional period.

Urban mobility: Knorr-Bremse wins major entrance systems order for Siemens Mobility’s new London Underground trains

  • Knorr-Bremse and Siemens Mobility sign agreement to supply entrance systems for 94 London Underground trains

Knorr-Bremse, the global market leader for braking and other systems for rail and commercial vehicles, has won a major, middle double-digit million-euro order to supply entrance systems to Siemens Mobility. Knorr-Bremse subsidiary IFE, the global market leader for rail vehicle entrance systems, will supply 3,760 door systems for 94 trains on the Piccadilly line operated by London Underground. With the overall demand for public transportation expected to rise over the next years, Knorr-Bremse and IFE will be making a key contribution to dependable urban mobility for the people of London.

Knorr-Bremse: Financial performance in Q2 2020 significantly exceeds expectations

  • First indications for the second quarter of 2020: preliminary revenues of around EUR 1.4 billion and a very healthy operating EBITDA margin of approx. 17%
  • Outlook for 2020: Revenues expected to reach EUR 5.8 to 6.2 billion, with an operating EBITDA margin of 16.0 to 17.5%

Knorr-Bremse AG has considerably surpassed expectations in compensating for the anticipated downturn in business caused by the Covid-19 pandemic during the second quarter of 2020. Based on first indications, the company is anticipating revenues of approximately EUR 1.4 billion (previous year: EUR 1.8 billion) and an operating EBITDA margin of approximately 17% (previous year: 19.1%) for the reporting period April to June 2020.

High-speed mobility: Knorr-Bremse supports RZD to develop next-generation very high-speed trains for Russia

  • Knorr-Bremse, Russian Railways RZD and the Russian Engineering Center ECRT have formed a strategic partnership for construction of a new very high-speed train generation
  • In the initial phase, Knorr-Bremse will bring in its conceptual know-how and systems expertise to help determine the trains’ technical specifications

The trains will link the country’s largest cities at speeds greater than 300 km/h. Knorr-Bremse to supply trailer and bus manufacturer NEFAZ with over 4,500 trailer EBS systems

Knorr-Bremse, the world’s leading manufacturer of braking and other systems for rail and commercial vehicles, has been awarded a supply contract by trailer and bus manufacturer NEFAZ, a subsidiary of the KAMAZ Group. The scope of supply includes more than 4,500 trailer EBS systems, NEFAZ’s full requirement for the next three years, underpinning Knorr-Bremse’s market position in the trailer segment in Russia.
